Pursuing the Wealth of Opportunities in Gulf Oil Exploration
Venari has a solid financial foundation. Pre-eminent global investment firms Warburg Pincus, Kelso & Company, Temasek and The Jordan Company provided an initial $1.125 billion capital commitment for Venari to pursue our aggressive exploration program and development projects in the Gulf of Mexico deepwater. These funds made Venari one of the oil and gas sector’s largest start-ups backed by private equity, and are testament to investors’ confidence in the company’s competitive advantages and the future of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico as a dominant hydrocarbon province.
In mid-2014, Venari raised an additional $1.3 billion of equity commitments. Venari’s management and existing private equity and investment firms were joined by several new investors, including GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and BlackRock Private Equity Partners for the second financing effort. To date, Venari has raised $2.4 billion of equity commitments from its investors.
